9th International Seminar on Detection Dogs Organised by UK LEADS TSG
UK Leads is pleased to announce its 9th International Seminar, “Where is the canine limit?” to be held at the Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh, 28 February-2 March 2011. This aims to build on the success of the 2009 Seminar, “Canine Detection – 2012 and Beyond” by seeking to highlight and discuss a number of challenges associated with canine detection.
This international event seeks to bring together practitioners, scientists, managers and policy makers to discuss all aspects of the use of canine detection and its contribution to wider detection capability. Whilst there have been specific themes for the seminars in recent years, we propose to keep the theme of this seminar general to encourage attendance and participation from attendees from a wide range of disciplines. We hope that the confirmed speakers listed will offer something for everyone with an interest in canine detection capabilities at the 9th ISDD.
Confirmed speakers include*:
- ACC Ingram (Dyfed Powys Police, ACPO Police Dog Working Group Chair) – Opening Address
- Dorothy McKeegan (Glasgow University) – Ethics of deliberately putting dogs into harm’s way
